About The Position

The Tax Supervisor in Private Client Services will be responsible for technical accounting knowledge, tax preparation, workflow management, and client engagement. This role requires advanced knowledge of accounting and reporting standards, the ability to research and review technical areas, and to address accounting-related questions. The supervisor will manage team workflows, monitor task completion, and handle multiple assignments within engagements. They will also communicate work status and client issues to management, possess advanced knowledge of accounting software, and participate in client engagement planning and execution. Additionally, the role involves identifying opportunities for staff leverage, leading small to medium-sized assignments, and training, supervising, and mentoring junior staff. The supervisor will also take a lead role in client and team meetings, contributing new ideas and strategic initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field preferred.
  • At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field.
  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred.
  • CPA candidates preferred.
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally.
  • Proficient use of applicable technology.
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs.

  • Bachelor's degree with a preferred field of study in Accounting.
  • CPA eligible.
  • 3+ years' or relevant work and industry experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • CPA license or on track to obtain.
  • Software Experience - CCH Axcess Tax, Microsoft Office 365.

Responsibilities

  • Contains advanced technical knowledge of accounting standards and reporting standards in researching, completing and reviewing technical areas.
  • Addresses questions on technical accounting matters from team members and upper level client management.
  • Has intermediate to advanced level tax preparation skills.
  • Performs a detailed review of team’s workflow and monitors tasks to ensure they are assigned and completed on a timely basis.
  • Manages multiple assignments inside an engagement.
  • Communicates with Partner, Manager and/or Supervising Senior on work status and client issues that arise.
  • Has advanced knowledge of applicable accounting software (e.g. Axcess Tax, Engagement, SurePrep, etc.).
  • Participates in planning and execution of client engagement in collaboration with the Manager and/or Partner on the job.
  • Identifies opportunities to leverage staff including designing staffing structure of engagement.
  • Leads small to medium sized assignments with finalized document and report requiring minimal change upon review.
  • Trains, supervises and mentors lower level staff.
  • Takes a lead role in client and team meetings and contributes new ideas and strategic initiatives.
