About The Position

The Private Client Services (PCS) Tax Practice specializes in the taxation of gifts, trusts, estates, foundations, closely held entities and individual returns. This role involves supervising all aspects of accounting, tax, or audit engagements for clients, ensuring adherence to quality control standards. The Tax Supervisor will develop a deep understanding of client businesses, contribute to engagement planning and analysis, and manage engagement budgets and timelines. A key part of the role includes reviewing the work of engagement team members, providing constructive feedback, and supervising and mentoring them to foster a collaborative and productive environment. The position also involves training team members, supporting their professional development, and assisting with client billing. Identifying and developing expertise in a specific industry or area is encouraged, as is leveraging this knowledge for cross-service opportunities and participating in practice development activities. Administrative duties and additional responsibilities as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least 3 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • 1 year supervisory experience preferred
  • CPA candidates preferred
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary

Responsibilities

  • Supervise all aspects of accounting, tax or audit engagements for clients including status updates to engagement managers and adhere to all quality control standards as required
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the client's business, contributing to the analysis and planning of client engagements
  • Adhere to engagement budget constraints and complete assigned tasks within the time requested, and explain variances when needed
  • Achieve charge hour goals
  • Review engagement team members accounting, tax or auditing work: provide constructive review points
  • Supervise and guide team members on engagements, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment
  • Train and mentor engagement team members, supporting their technical and professional development
  • Assist in the client billing process with Managers, Directors or Managing Directors
  • Identify an industry or area of specialization and develop skills, knowledge and expertise in that area
  • Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements
  • Participate in practice development activities, such as membership in qualified organizations, capable of referring potential engagements
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned
