About The Position

As a BNN Tax Staff, you will be working directly with other BNN tax professionals to prepare federal and state tax returns and related work papers for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, individuals, and trusts. These tasks will require the gathering of relevant financial information and the assembly of such information into a work paper format. You will also utilize tax research tools to help determine the proper tax treatment of a variety of client transactions.

  • Demonstrates working knowledge in tax preparation at both the federal and state(s) levels
  • Keeps current with new tax law developments
  • Proficient in using standard software to perform and document work on tax engagements
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or similar field
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA required

Nice To Haves

  • Advanced degree in accounting preferred
  • CPA certification (active or in process) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Prepare federal and state tax returns and related work papers for corporations, partnerships, limited liability companies, individuals, and trusts.
  • Gather relevant financial information and assemble it into a work paper format.
  • Utilize tax research tools to determine the proper tax treatment of client transactions.
  • Keep supervisors informed of budget variations and other issues in a timely manner.
  • Effectively and timely clear review notes.
  • Effectively use the firm’s tax reference materials in resolving issues.
