About The Position

Our client, an airline, is looking for a Tax Specialist to join their team. The successful candidate will work within a close-knit team to provide guidance on tax obligations and implications arising from wider business transactions, while also assisting with audits and coordinating third-party vendors.

Requirements

Strong understanding of finance, tax, and accounting principles
Qualified tax professional with demonstrable experience in international taxation
Professional tax qualification with a minimum of 3–4 years’ post-qualification experience, preferably gained in a large accountancy firm or PLC environment
University degree in finance, accounting, and/or tax
Excellent analytical skills, with a high level of initiative, strong interpersonal abilities, and excellent communication skills
Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Italian, French, or German is considered an advantage
Ability to learn quickly and remain up to date with developments in international tax policy
Motivated, reliable, and adaptable team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving
Willingness to travel when required

Nice To Haves

Previous experience in the aviation industry is considered an advantage

Responsibilities

Provide ongoing support and guidance on local Maltese corporate and employment tax matters impacting the wider Group
Prepare corporate tax provisions for Malta-based Group entities
Assist in analysing potential jurisdictions and bases for Group expansion
Liaise with external advisors and tax authorities
Support direct and indirect tax compliance across the wider Group
Assist in the preparation of transfer pricing documentation
Support tax audits in various jurisdictions
Complete tax-related projects as assigned by the Group Tax Management team
Support the Group Tax team in the implementation of tax strategy
Participate in ad hoc projects as required
