About The Position

Deloitte's Legal Business Services (LBS) team, specifically the Legal Management Consulting group, focuses on strategic advisory for law departments and law firms undergoing transformation. This role involves working with general counsels and managing partners on redesigning operating models, developing technology and AI strategies, restructuring organizations, and building capabilities. The position is ideal for individuals energized by solving complex business problems and advising senior leaders on significant organizational change, leveraging their consulting background and client service skills.

Requirements

  • Ability to perform job responsibilities within a hybrid work model that requires US Tax professionals to co-located in person 2-3 days per week
  • Bachelor's degree in law, tax, finance, business or related field
  • 3+ years of relevant consulting, law department operations, law firm management, or legal services industry experience
  • Experience in advisory roles, strategy development, organizational design, or business transformation work
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite, particularly PowerPoint for client presentations and analysis
  • Working knowledge of AI tools and applications, including Claude
  • Knowledge of legal technology platforms and their applications
  • Limited immigration sponsorship may be available
  • Ability to travel 50%, on average based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
  • One of the following active accreditations obtained: Licensed CPA in state of practice/primary office if eligible to sit for the CPA; Licensed Attorney (or foreign equivalent); Advanced degree in the Legal profession or a relevant industry certification (e.g., Juris Doctor, Master of Laws / LLM); Enrolled Agent; PMP; CCM; CFA; PMI Agile Certified Practitioner; CCMP; CBAP; Procurement/Legal Procurement or SAS® Certified Data Scientist; Paralegal Certification with a 4-year degree; Six Sigma (Black Belt and Green Belt); Management Professional (CCMP) or SAS® Certified Data Scientist; DocuSign (Workflow Manager, E-signature, CLM, etc.); iCertis; Thomson Reuters (Legal Tracker, High Q, or Contract Express).

Responsibilities

  • Support diagnostic work and develop strategic recommendations on legal operating models, organizational design, technology strategy, and process optimization for client law departments and law firms
  • Draft strategy documents, business cases, recommendations, and other project deliverables with oversight from managers and senior team members
  • Support client engagement management, including facilitating workshops, supporting client meetings, and coordinating project logistics and communications
  • Analyze legal spend, legal operations benchmarking data, and organizational effectiveness to support client strategy development
  • Support development of proposals and strategy documents for new client engagements
  • Conduct technology research and assessment to support legal technology and AI strategy recommendations
  • Contribute research and insights on legal operations best practices, emerging technologies, and industry trends
  • Support project management activities including workplans, tracking, status reporting, and coordination with team members
  • Identify and implement process improvements within engagements
  • Contribute to practice development activities and thought leadership
