About The Position

This role is responsible for completing all aspects of accounting, tax, and audit engagements for clients, including providing status updates to engagement managers and adhering to all quality control standards. The position requires demonstrating an understanding of the client's business, including analysis and planning of client engagements. The Tax Senior must adhere to engagement budget constraints, complete assigned tasks within the requested time, and explain variances when needed. They are expected to achieve charge hour goals and review the accounting, tax, or auditing work of associates, providing constructive feedback. This role may involve supervising associates on engagements, training and mentoring associate staff, and participating in the client billing process by assisting Managers or Directors. The Tax Senior will also identify and develop knowledge in selected specialty practices, leverage industry knowledge and business acumen to identify cross-serve opportunities, and participate in practice development activities such as membership in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements. Administrative duties as assigned will also be part of the role, along with additional responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 2 years of experience in public accounting or related field
  • Ability to manage deadlines, work on multiple assignments and prioritize each assignment as necessary
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
  • Proficient use of applicable technology
  • Must be able to travel based on client and business needs

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • Master’s degree preferred in Accounting, Taxation or related field
  • CPA candidates preferred

Responsibilities

  • May supervise associates on engagements
  • Train and mentor associate staff
  • May be involved in the client billing process by assisting Managers or Directors
  • Identify and begin to develop knowledge in selected specialty practice
  • Leverage industry knowledge and business acumen blending cross serve opportunities into client engagements
  • Participate in practice development activities such as: membership in qualified organizations capable of referring potential engagements
  • Execute administrative duties as assigned
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
