About The Position

Gursey | Schneider LLP is a Top 100 Firm with over 40 years of success, recognized as a Best of the Best Firm multiple times. We are seeking a Tax Senior to join our Tax Department. This role involves preparing and reviewing complex tax returns for a variety of clients, including high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, corporations, and LLCs. The Tax Senior will work closely with the tax team and clients, analyze tax situations, prepare projections, and manage client relationships. This position also includes mentoring junior staff and acting as a liaison between managers and clients. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of tax law, excellent communication and problem-solving skills, and proficiency in relevant software.

Requirements

2-5 years of experience in public accounting tax work.
Experience with preparing and reviewing complex high-net-worth individual, partnership, fiduciary, LLC, non-profit, gift, and estate tax returns.
Ability to prepare working trial balance and year-end adjusting entries.
Possess a broad understanding of Tax Law.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Exceptional multitasking abilities and consistently meet all deadlines.
Keen interest in staying abreast of the dynamic changes in the tax industry's regulations and policies.
Excel at problem-solving and quickly identify and offer solutions.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, and CCH Axcess.
Excellent research, writing, verbal, and written communication skills.
Must be authorized to work in the United States now and in the future without visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

Hold a valid CPA license or be working towards obtaining a CPA license.

Responsibilities

Review and prepare complex tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, partnerships, corporations, entities, and LLCs.
Prepare individual, fiduciary, estate, and gift tax returns by deadlines.
Work with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed.
Work with clients to gather relevant tax-related information to prepare an accurate tax return.
Analyze the individual's tax situation, trusts, and estate from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
Prepare and review year-end projections and quarterly estimates.
Research various tax-related issues.
Manage and develop clients who require income tax and financial planning.
Provide mentorship and guidance to interns and associates on tax matters.
Act as a liaison between managers and clients.
Maintain strong presentation skills in both written and oral communication.
Attend internal and external professional development and training seminars regularly to enhance your skills and knowledge in the field.
