About The Position

An accounting firm is seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join its team. This role is suited for a tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients, preparing and reviewing tax returns, assisting with tax planning, and taking on increasing responsibility within a public accounting environment.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
3+ years of public accounting tax experience.
Strong experience preparing individual and business tax returns.
Working knowledge of federal and state taxation.
Experience with 1040, 1065, 1120, and/or 1120S returns.
Strong tax research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines.

Nice To Haves

CPA license or CPA eligibility preferred.
Experience reviewing tax returns or mentoring staff is a plus.
Real estate tax experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Prepare and review federal and state tax returns for individuals and business entities.
Handle tax engagements from planning through completion.
Prepare returns including 1040, 1065, 1120, and 1120S.
Assist with tax planning and research complex federal and state tax issues.
Work directly with clients to gather information, answer questions, and resolve tax matters.
Identify potential tax issues and planning opportunities.
Assist Managers and Partners with client engagements and special projects.
Review work prepared by staff accountants and provide guidance as needed.
Mentor and assist in developing junior tax professionals.
Manage multiple engagements and deadlines throughout the tax season.
Maintain current knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Assist with accounting and advisory projects as needed.
