About The Position

As a Senior Tax Manager, you will be responsible for working with clients to assist them with the transition of wealth from one generation to the next. This role involves reviewing gift, estate and fiduciary tax returns, ensuring their timely and accurate completion according to firm processes, and coaching and mentoring staff. You will interpret legal documents related to estate and business succession planning, assist clients with varying levels of estate planning knowledge, and analyze tax situations to ensure maximum tax benefit. The role also includes implementing planning processes for cash flow projections, income distribution, business succession, estate preservation, and estate plan flow. Additionally, you will manage client relationships, participate in business development activities, and collaborate with the firm's Wealth Transition Services team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Active CPA license or Enrolled Agent (EA) certification.
  • 7+ years of experience in public accounting or related field working with a focus on individual clients and corporate trust companies.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Expertise in transfer tax and estate planning.
  • Experience with flow-through entities and private foundations.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Experience developing business and networking.
  • Authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing gift, estate and fiduciary tax returns.
  • Working with staff to ensure gift, estate and fiduciary tax returns are completed correctly by required deadlines and under firm processes.
  • Coaching and mentoring staff.
  • Interpreting and reviewing various legal documents in relation to estate and business succession planning.
  • Assisting clients who may have varied levels of estate planning knowledge.
  • Looking at the tax situation of the individual and their estate from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
  • Implementing the planning process to create plans based on cash flow projections, distribution of income, business succession, estate preservation and estate plan flow.
  • Managing client relationships internally and externally by proactively seeking solutions that add value to the client experience.
  • Participating in business development activities.
  • Working with the firm Wealth Transition Services team on various projects.
