We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Tax Senior Manager to join our Trust & Estate Tax team within our National Tax practice! CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered remote which means it does not require job duties be performed within proximity of a CohnReznick office location. However, as a remote employee, you may be required to be present at a CohnReznick office with scheduled notice for client work, team meetings, or trainings. YOUR TEAM. This position is situated within our National Tax Team and will focus on Trust & Estate work, along with the potential to help with 1040/1041 work as well. You will partner with other technical experts within the tax field and have the opportunity to learn and develop at a rapid pace!

Requirements

  • Active CPA license in at least one State
  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive tax experience with trusts and estates, as well as high net worth clients
  • Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience, preferably in a public accounting firm
  • Strong tax research skills
  • Ability to lead, manage and develop staff in a highly interactive team environment
  • Excellent communication and presentation (verbal and written) skills

Nice To Haves

  • Master in Tax is a plus
  • LLM or JD is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret wills and trust agreements for tax-relevant provisions
  • Review complex gift, estate and fiduciary income tax returns
  • Review fiduciary accountings for trusts and estates
  • Provide wealth transfer tax planning and tax consulting to ultra high net worth clients
  • Research and consult on various estate, gift, and fiduciary income tax related issues: i.e., State trust residency and taxation, grantor trust toggling; GST tax implications; pre- and post-mortem tax optimization
  • Help generate opportunities within existing clients, as well as meeting with and pursuing new clients
  • Assume responsibility for managing all aspects of client relationships
  • Manage a team of professionals within the group to complete engagements from start to finish
