About The Position

The Tax Senior Associate role involves preparing individual, business, and other types of tax returns for a diverse client base across various entities and industries. This position collaborates with the tax team on all aspects of the tax process, including planning, client interaction, and special tax projects. The role requires gathering essential tax information from clients to ensure accurate return preparation, analyzing tax situations to maximize client benefits, and developing and communicating solutions to the engagement team and clients. Additionally, the associate will prepare accounting-related reports in a paperless environment and train/mentor junior tax department employees. The role also includes attending training seminars, professional development, and networking events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • 2-4 years of tax experience within public accounting.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
  • Actively stays up-to-date on the ever-changing tax industry's regulations and policies.
  • Self-starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to focus on complex tasks and will quickly understand the firm’s comprehensive compliance processes.
  • Authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Active CPA license or working towards obtaining CPA license preferred; Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares individual, business and other types of tax returns for clients in various types of entities and industries.
  • Works with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed -- including tax planning, client interaction and performing special tax projects.
  • Gathers relevant tax-related information from the client so an accurate tax return can be prepared.
  • Looks at tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
  • Develops solutions and communicates those solutions to the engagement team and client.
  • Prepares accounting-related reports through a paperless office environment.
  • Trains and mentors lower-level employees in the tax department.
  • Attends training seminars, professional development and networking events.
