About The Position

The Tax Senior Associate role involves preparing individual, business, and other types of tax returns for clients across various entities and industries, including healthcare and agriculture. The position requires collaboration with the tax team on tax planning, client interaction, and special tax projects. Key responsibilities include gathering client tax information, analyzing tax situations to maximize client benefits, developing and communicating solutions, preparing accounting reports in a paperless environment, and training/mentoring junior employees. The role also involves attending training, professional development, and networking events.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
  • Active CPA license or working towards obtaining CPA license preferred; Enrolled Agent (EA) certification also accepted.
  • 2-4 years of tax experience within public accounting.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of tax accounting principles and IRS regulations.
  • Actively stay up-to-date on the ever-changing tax industry's regulations and policies.
  • Self-starter who enjoys working independently and in a team environment.
  • Able to focus on complex tasks and will quickly understand the firm’s comprehensive compliance processes.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future without visa sponsorship.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares individual, business and other types of tax returns for clients in various types of entities and industries such as healhcare and agriculture.
  • Working with the tax team to ensure the various components of the tax process are performed -- including tax planning, client interaction and performing special tax projects.
  • Gathering relevant tax-related information from the client so an accurate tax return can be prepared.
  • Looking at tax situations from various angles to ensure the maximum tax benefit is applied.
  • Developing solutions and communicating those solutions to the engagement team and client.
  • Preparing accounting-related reports through a paperless office environment.
  • Trains and mentors lower-level employees in the tax department.
  • Attends training seminars, professional development and networking events.
