About The Position

As a Tax Senior Accountant supporting our asset management and financial services clients, you’ll focus on the operating businesses behind the funds — the management companies with employees and day-to-day business operations. You’ll navigate sophisticated, multistate structures, foreign ownership considerations, and complex allocations, all while working independently on meaningful, high-impact engagements. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required.
  • CPA license or active progress toward CPA strongly preferred.
  • Partnership tax experience required; S-Corp and C-Corp experience preferred.
  • Strong multistate tax experience, including experience with PTE, composite and nonresident withholding taxes.
  • Ability to work independently in a self-directed environment.
  • Review experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail and analytical thinking.

  • Experience with special allocations.
  • Exposure to foreign partners and ownership of foreign entities.
  • Background in asset management, professional services, or financial services tax.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns for asset management companies (partnerships, S-Corps, and C-Corps).
  • Manage complex multistate compliance, often filing in 20+ states, including PTE, composite, and nonresident withholding requirements.
  • Work through special allocations and multi-tier structures, sometimes involving foreign partners and ownership of foreign entities.
  • Conduct technical research and provide guidance on complex tax matters affecting client operations.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and leverage technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy across engagements.
  • Take ownership of day-to-day engagement responsibilities, working independently with minimal oversight.
  • Review the work of other team members to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and internal stakeholders, with client interaction growing over time as you advance.
  • Collaborate closely with managers and engagement teams to meet deadlines and deliver exceptional service.
  • Mentor and support junior staff through training, feedback, and review.
  • Model strong communication and organization to promote team alignment.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team with a culture built on strong working relationships.
