About The Position

BGM is hiring accounting students for its 2027 Busy Season Tax Internship Program in its Norwalk, CT office. The internship runs from January 2027 through mid-April 2027. Interns work in a collaborative, small-office environment alongside experienced professionals and gain hands-on experience with client service and tax engagements. Interns are paired with team members in different roles who support their integration into the Firm and provide ongoing performance feedback. Depending on performance, career goals, and business conditions, interns may receive a full-time job offer.

Requirements

• Be enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Accounting.
• Be on track to graduate with CPA eligibility.
• Have Junior, Senior, or higher academic status.
• Have customer-service experience and a customer-service-minded approach.
• Be able to work approximately 40–50 hours per week during the internship.
• Be able to work effectively both on a team and independently.
• Be enthusiastic and willing to learn.
• Have strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Reside in or near the Des Moines, IA area during the internship.
• Be authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis.

Responsibilities

• Prepare tax returns with the tax team.
• Assist with tax planning projects and tax-related research.
• Complete special projects and client support work as needed.
• Support multiple client engagements, meet deadlines, and communicate progress to supervisors.
• Develop experience and knowledge across a variety of industries.
• Expand industry knowledge through exposure to peers, internal experts, and clients, as well as self-study and formal training.
