About The Position

As an experienced, seasonal Tax Professional at an independently owned H&R Block franchise office, you will help clients make confident, informed decisions about their lives, careers, and money while building lasting client relationships. You will serve clients with diverse tax needs, with support from an expert team and advanced tax training. The franchisee makes its own hiring decisions; employment questions should be directed to the franchisee. Enrollment in or completion of the H&R Block Income Tax Course or Tax Knowledge Assessment is not an offer or guarantee of employment.

Requirements

• Successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment.
• Experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
• Experience completing individual tax returns.
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfort working with virtual tools, including video, phone, and chat.
• Ability to communicate effectively in person, by phone, and in writing.
• Must complete continuing education requirements and meet all other IRS and applicable state requirements.
• High school diploma or equivalent or higher.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
• CPA or Enrolled Agent certification.
• Experience completing complex individual, trust, and partnership returns.
• Five or more years of experience in accounting, finance, bookkeeping, or tax.
• Experience conducting virtual tax interviews.
• Experience with tax planning and audit support.
• Sales and/or marketing experience.

Responsibilities

• Conduct tax interviews with clients in person and through virtual tools, including video, phone, chat, and email.
• Prepare complete and accurate tax returns.
• Generate business growth, increase client retention, and offer additional products and services.
• Provide clients with IRS support.
• Provide tax notice services; all certification levels can provide these services.
• Provide audit representation if qualified as a Circular 230 associate.
• Mentor and support teammates.
