About The Position

CLA is seeking a Tax Principal or Signing Director to join its Pennsylvania Tax Team, focusing on S-Corps, Partnerships, and Individuals. The role contributes at the highest level in the industry through client advisory, service advocacy, relationship development, and leadership. The Principal or Signing Director leads tax and industry professionals in delivering tax compliance and consulting services, takes full responsibility for services for clients in a book of business, develops new business and expands existing client relationships, and reviews and approves engagement terms, fees, work papers, tax returns, and client deliverables. The role also requires staying current on tax law changes and a commitment to devote time to the practice.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Accounting, Taxation, or a related field.
• Current CPA licensure required; a JD or EA may be accepted in lieu of a CPA.
• At least 8 years of public accounting experience in a tax role with a public accounting and/or professional services firm.

Responsibilities

• Lead tax and industry professionals in delivering tax compliance and consulting services.
• Mentor team members to understand clients’ businesses and meet their needs with the firm’s services.
• Assume full responsibility for all services for clients in a book of business.
• Develop new business and expand services to existing clients.
• Review and sign engagement letters; discuss assignment scope and terms with clients and staff; approve fees.
• Review and approve staff-prepared work papers and tax returns.
• Review and sign client deliverables.
• Keep current on tax law changes.
• Demonstrate commitment to the firm by devoting time to the practice.
