Tax Manager (Atlanta, GA)
About The Position
Mercer Advisors is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Tax Team. This role involves providing tax compliance services to high-net-worth clients in conjunction with wealth advisors. The position offers a good work-life balance, a supportive environment, and direct client interaction without the pressure of billable hours or business development requirements found in traditional public accounting firms. The Tax Manager will lead client relationships, prepare, review, and deliver income tax returns, tax projections, and analysis. A passion for client service, experience in individual and entity tax preparation and review, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment are essential.
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years of public accounting experience, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
- Strong tax code knowledge and general accounting skills.
- CPA and/or EA required.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in Tax a plus.
- Experience with CCH, including Axcess, Workflow and Practice, and SafeSend, a plus.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and sign tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and businesses.
- Create quarterly estimates and projections.
- Communicate clearly and concisely with clients regarding income tax return delivery.
- Perform tax research.
- Respond accurately and timely to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis for both tax and wealth management clients.
- Work with tax staff to respond to tax notices and review correspondence.
- Stay updated on tax law changes and communicate their effects to clients.
- Mentor Senior Tax Associates, Tax Associates, and/or Tax Support Specialists.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
