The Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing complex tax engagements and serving as a primary point of contact for clients. This role provides tax planning and compliance guidance while managing client communications and expectations. The Tax Manager plays a key role in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality client service.

Requirements

5-7+ years of recent public accounting experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
CPA, EA, or JD License required.
Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns including partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation, individual, trust, and gift tax returns.
Provide expert advice on tax strategies, tax planning, and compliance issues to help clients achieve their goals.
Manage ongoing client communications, including email and phone correspondence, ensuring timely, professional, and clear responses.
Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, offering proactive guidance, business insights, serving as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
Conduct in-depth research on complex tax matters and create actionable recommendations.
Represent clients in interactions with the IRS and other tax authorities, including audits, notices, and correspondence.
Mentor and support the growth of interns and staff, fostering their professional development and providing timely feedback.
Stay current on changes in tax law and accounting guidance and communicate impacts to clients and team members.
