The Tax Manager will coordinate the Company’s income tax compliance process, working with external auditors and tax advisors to ensure accurate and timely federal, state, local, and other required tax filings. This role serves as the primary internal tax subject matter expert, providing guidance and recommendations on tax matters across the organization. The Tax Manager will organize a tax calendar to ensure timely filing of sales and property taxes by internal resources and timely payment and filing of income, payroll, and franchise taxes through 3rd parties. A key responsibility is to develop and maintain a cohesive tax strategy that aligns with the Company’s business objectives, growth plans, and evolving operating structure. The role involves partnering with accounting leadership and external auditors to support quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, financial statement disclosures, and related reporting requirements. The Tax Manager will assess the tax implications of business changes, acquisitions, restructurings, new products, geographic expansion, and other strategic initiatives, providing actionable recommendations to leadership. This position will monitor changes in tax laws, regulations, and accounting guidance, evaluate organizational impacts, and implement necessary compliance on planning actions. Identifying and executing tax planning opportunities that minimize risk, improve tax efficiency, and support the Company’s financial objectives is crucial. The Tax Manager will coordinate responses to tax authority inquiries, notices, audits, and examinations, working with external advisors as appropriate. Establishing and maintaining effective tax-related processes, controls, documentation, and policies to support compliance, audit readiness, and operational efficiency are also key duties. Collaboration with cross-functional teams including Finance, Accounting, Legal, Human Resources, and business leaders is essential to ensure tax considerations are incorporated into key business decisions and transactions. The role also includes participating in ongoing staff meetings, training activities, and continuing education, providing training and guidance to employees and business partners on tax-related matters, and maintaining currency in accounting and tax compliance issues through professional memberships and attendance at industry events.
