Due to the continued growth of our tax practice, we are seeking an experienced Tax Manager to lead individual and business tax engagements and play a key role in delivering high‑quality tax compliance and planning services. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with great clients who value proactive advisory support and meaningful CPA relationships. The Tax Manager is responsible for leading client tax engagements, managing client relationships, and delivering tax compliance and planning services with minimal partner involvement. This role is ideal for a seasoned tax professional who enjoys client interaction, mentoring staff, and taking ownership of engagements from start to finish.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of tax preparation and/or review experience in public accounting
  • CPA license or Enrolled Agent designation required for Tax Manager level
  • Strong knowledge of the Internal Revenue Code
  • Experience with UltraTax or similar tax software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Excellent communication, organization, and client service skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines, prioritize work, and thrive in a fast‑paced environment
  • Desire to continue learning and contribute to a collaborative team

Responsibilities

  • Lead tax engagements in accordance with firm and professional standards, deadlines, and budgets
  • Prepare, review, and approve federal and state income tax returns
  • Assist with trust, estate, and gift tax returns as needed
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues related to compliance and planning
  • Consult with clients and provide proactive tax planning guidance
  • Serve as the primary client contact, managing relationships with a high level of professionalism and responsiveness
  • Prepare and review responses to IRS and state tax notices and correspondence
  • Assist with and manage client billing
  • Manage multiple engagements simultaneously and efficiently
  • Train and mentor interns, staff, and senior accountants
  • Participate in firm initiatives, projects, and leadership opportunities
  • Maintain confidentiality of client and firm information
  • Stay current on tax laws through continuing education and professional development
