Pittsford Samuels, PLLC is seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager with public accounting experience to join their growing, boutique, full-service accounting firm. This role offers the opportunity to work with a diverse client base, including private clients, while providing tax planning, compliance, and advisory support. The Tax Manager will be responsible for overseeing complex tax engagements, serving as a primary point of contact for clients, and providing tax planning and compliance guidance. This role is key in delivering accurate, timely, and high-quality client service.

Requirements

  • 5-7+ years of recent public accounting experience required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA, EA, or JD License required.
  • Proficiency in Excel and accounting software.

Responsibilities

  • Review and prepare complex federal and state tax returns including partnership, S Corporation, C Corporation, individual, trust, and gift tax returns.
  • Provide expert advice on tax strategies, tax planning, and compliance issues to help clients achieve their goals.
  • Manage ongoing client communications, including email and phone correspondence, ensuring timely, professional, and clear responses.
  • Build strong, trusted relationships with clients, offering proactive guidance, business insights, serving as a primary point of contact for assigned clients.
  • Conduct in-depth research on complex tax matters and create actionable recommendations.
  • Represent clients in interactions with the IRS and other tax authorities, including audits, notices, and correspondence.
  • Mentor and support the growth of interns and staff, fostering their professional development and providing timely feedback.
  • Stay current on changes in tax law and accounting guidance and communicate impacts to clients and team members.
