About The Position

Aldrich CPAs and Advisors is looking for a Tax Manager to join our Lake Oswego office. This role will support clients in our construction practice, though prior construction tax experience is not required. This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants meaningful client relationships, partner support, and the ability to grow within a niche practice. As a Tax Manager at Aldrich, you will work closely with clients, partners, and team members to deliver tax compliance, tax planning, consulting, and relationship management services. Experience serving closely held businesses, S corporations, partnerships, manufacturing, real estate, or other complex tax clients may translate well. This role is a good fit for someone who brings strong tax fundamentals, client relationship skills, and the ability to communicate well with both clients and team members. The ideal candidate is local to the Lake Oswego/Portland metro area and able to maintain visibility with clients and team members in the Lake Oswego and Salem markets through Aldrich’s hybrid work model.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of recent public accounting experience with a primary focus on tax
  • Experience managing client relationships and reviewing tax work
  • Strong client service mindset and ability to build trust with clients
  • Ability to supervise, mentor, and develop others
  • Excellent research, writing, and communication skills
  • Licensed CPA, Enrolled Agent, JD, or successful completion of the CPA exam is required.
  • Candidates should be local to the Lake Oswego/Portland metro area and able to maintain visibility with clients and team members in the Lake Oswego and Salem markets.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior construction tax experience is not required but may translate well.
  • Experience serving closely held businesses, S corporations, partnerships, manufacturing, real estate, or other complex tax clients may translate well.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and plan service delivery to clients, including conducting review meetings
  • Manage assigned client relationships and serve as a trusted advisor
  • Analyze client financial information, assess needs, and determine strategies to meet client objectives
  • Communicate technical tax concepts clearly to clients and team members
  • Develop and mentor staff and seniors through training and performance feedback
  • Manage the risk and financial performance of engagements, including billings, collections, and project budgets
  • Participate in new client prospecting, presentations, and closing meetings
  • Collaborate with partners and team members to support continued growth in the construction practice
