About The Position

Reid Accountants + Advisors is seeking an experienced Manager, Tax, to join their New York City office in a hybrid capacity. This role is ideal for a collaborative, client-facing tax professional who thrives in a team-oriented environment and brings strong technical expertise. The Manager, Tax is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations while providing high-quality tax planning, advisory, and compliance services to clients. This role includes preparing and reviewing complex tax returns, supervising and mentoring staff, managing engagements, and serving as a key point of contact for clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting (Required)
• CPA license (Required)
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in a public accounting / CPA firm (required)
• Experience using CCH Axcess Tax, tax research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite (preferred)
• Ability to work independently while inspiring and leading a team to drive results
• Strong client-facing communication skills, both verbal and written
• Collaborative, team-oriented mindset with a positive and professional demeanor
• Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management skills
• Ability to prioritize, delegate, and manage workloads based on team skill sets
• Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
• Consistent communication with Partners, clients, and team members to ensure timely, accurate, and high-quality results
• Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Nice To Haves

• Experience using CCH Axcess Tax, tax research tools, and Microsoft Office Suite

Responsibilities

• Be proficient in the preparation and review of a wide variety of tax returns, including but not limited to high wealth individuals, fiduciary, corporate, partnerships, and multistate filings
• Demonstrate competency across all phases of tax services, including tax planning, compliance, preparation, review, and research
• Apply strong technical knowledge of accounting and reporting standards when researching, completing, and reviewing complex tax matters
• Identify tax risk management issues and propose practical solutions through research and collaboration with engagement Partners
• Review tax procedures and financial statements with minimal supervision
• Monitor tasks assigned to team members to ensure questions are addressed, communication is clear, and work is completed accurately and on a timely basis
• Oversee and coordinate day-to-day engagement workflow, including planning, execution, and wrap-up
• Communicate client issues, deadlines, and engagement status to Partners to ensure timeliness and quality of service
• Supervise, train, and mentor tax staff, fostering professional development and collaboration
• Serve as a primary client interface, building and maintaining strong client relationships
