About The Position

Spotnana is looking for a Tax Manager to build, scale, and operate our tax function as the company continues to scale. This person will own domestic and international tax compliance, create scalable processes and controls, partner with external advisors, and provide practical tax guidance to internal stakeholders. The right person has the judgment and experience to provide oversight, along with the humility and initiative to roll up their sleeves and handle hands on work that may not always sit at a typical manager level.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of progressive tax experience, with a mix of public accounting and in house experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal and state income tax compliance, sales tax, nexus considerations, and international tax matters for a global business.
  • Experience with indirect tax, sales tax compliance, nexus analysis, transfer pricing, tax provisions, audits, and tax process design, with the ability to identify when specialist support is needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to build tax processes from the ground up in a high growth, evolving environment.
  • Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels, including preparing workpapers, tracking filings, reconciling accounts, and managing advisor inputs directly.
  • Excellent project management skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple deadlines across jurisdictions and stakeholders.
  • Clear, practical communicator who can explain complex tax topics to non tax audiences and build trusted relationships across the company.

Responsibilities

  • Build and scale Spotnana's tax function, including processes, controls, calendars, documentation, and operating rhythms that support a growing global business.
  • Own and oversee domestic tax compliance, including U.S. federal and state income tax, sales tax, nexus assessments, information reporting, and related filings, working closely with external advisors where appropriate.
  • Lead international entity compliance and tax filings, including indirect tax, transfer pricing, and jurisdiction specific requirements across global markets, partnering with internal stakeholders and external advisors to ensure timely, accurate submissions.
  • Prepare and review tax workpapers, reconciliations, account analyses, and supporting schedules, staying hands on when needed to ensure accuracy and timely execution.
  • Partner with Accounting on tax provisions, close activities, audits, entity management, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Monitor changes in tax rules and business operations, assess potential impacts, and translate technical tax matters into practical guidance for Finance, Legal, People, Operations, and business stakeholders.
  • Manage relationships with outside tax advisors and government authorities, ensuring clear communication, strong project management, and accountability for deliverables.
