About The Position

Workforce Solutions partners directly with leading small to mid-sized CPA firms across the United States to connect them with top talent in the public accounting industry. We are currently working with a well-established and growing public accounting firm in Georgetown, Texas that is seeking an experienced Tax Manager to join their team. This position is onsite in Georgetown, Texas with relocation assistance negotiable. Tax Managers are a key part of the business tax team responsible for managing client relationships while ensuring final annual tax products and monthly financial work are produced and delivered to clients within expected timelines. This includes: Preparing payroll, tax, and business records and reports. Preparing and reviewing corporate and individual tax returns. Building new and strengthening existing client relationships; demonstrating basic knowledge of clients' businesses. Communicating and meeting with clients as requested; providing recommendations to assist clients with financial or tax needs.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field plus Enrolled Agent (EA) at minimum.
  • 8 years or more of experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of taxation, U.S. GAAP, U.S. GAAS, SSARS (as applicable to Focus Area).

Nice To Haves

  • CPA and additional certification(s) preferred.
  • Experience within the construction industry, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing payroll, tax, and business records and reports.
  • Preparing and reviewing corporate and individual tax returns.
  • Building new and strengthening existing client relationships; demonstrating basic knowledge of clients' businesses.
  • Communicating and meeting with clients as requested; providing recommendations to assist clients with financial or tax needs.
  • Adheres to the policies, procedures, and processes of the Firm and holds direct reports responsible for doing the same.
  • Able to review and consult on complex transactions.
  • Able to teach/coach team members.
  • Cultivates role as primary contact for client.
  • Excellent supervisory and delegation skills demonstrated through direct reports meeting performance metrics.
  • Project management by coordinating internal and external resources to meet client care expectations.
  • Effectively oversees multiple engagement concurrently.
  • Has a basic understanding of the business aspects of a public accounting firm.
  • Recognizes opportunities to provide additional services to current clients and demonstrates ability to cross-sell services.
