About The Position

Mercer Advisors is seeking a Tax Manager to join their Tax Team. This team provides tax compliance services to high-net-worth clients in conjunction with wealth advisors. The role offers a good work/life balance, a fun and supportive environment, and direct client interaction, without the pressures of billable hours, audits, assurance work, or business development found in traditional public accounting firms. The Tax Manager will lead client relationships, prepare, review, and deliver income tax returns, tax projections, and analysis. The ideal candidate has a passion for client service, experience in individual and entity tax preparation and review, superior communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements

• Minimum 5+ years of public accounting experience, or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field.
• Strong tax code knowledge and general accounting skills.
• CPA and/or EA required.
• Highly organized and tax-oriented.
• Ability to handle a large volume of activities at one time.
• Ability to communicate concepts to clients and advisors in a concise and understandable fashion.
• Must be detail-oriented and have excellent time-management skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s degree in Tax a plus.
• Experience with CCH, including Axcess, Workflow and Practice, and SafeSend, a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, and sign tax returns for high-net-worth individuals, trusts, and businesses.
• Create quarterly estimates and projections.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with clients on all matters related to income tax return delivery.
• Perform tax research.
• Respond timely and accurately to tax questions, estimates, projections, and analysis for both tax and wealth management clients.
• Work with tax staff to respond to tax notices and review correspondence.
• Stay up-to-date on tax law changes and communicate their effects to clients.
• Mentor a team of Senior Tax Associates, Tax Associates, and/or Tax Support Specialists in the local office or region, as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
