As a Tax Manager, you'll serve as both a technical expert and trusted business advisor while helping lead client engagements and develop the next generation of professionals. You'll work directly with business owners, entrepreneurs, investors, agricultural operators, and closely held companies to provide proactive tax planning, strategic guidance, and high-level advisory services. Requirements

  • Active CPA license required
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field
  • 5+ years of public accounting experience
  • Strong experience with business and individual taxation
  • Experience reviewing tax engagements and managing client relationships
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated leadership and project management skills
  • Commitment to exceptional client service

Nice To Haves

  • Master's Degree in Taxation or related discipline
  • Prior experience managing staff and client engagements
  • Experience advising closely held businesses and business owners

Responsibilities

  • Lead and review complex individual, partnership, S-corporation, C-corporation, trust, and fiduciary tax engagements
  • Develop proactive tax strategies that help clients reduce risk and improve financial outcomes
  • Provide consulting and advisory services regarding entity structure, business planning, succession strategies, and tax efficiency
  • Research and resolve complex tax issues while providing practical, client-focused recommendations
  • Serve as the primary advisor for key client relationships
  • Meet regularly with clients to understand goals, challenges, and opportunities
  • Deliver exceptional service while identifying opportunities to expand advisory relationships
  • Build long-term trust through responsive communication and strategic thinking
  • Review tax returns and engagements for quality, accuracy, and compliance
  • Mentor, coach, and develop staff and senior accountants
  • Manage workflow, deadlines, and engagement profitability
  • Support an environment focused on collaboration, accountability, and professional growth
  • Participate in business development initiatives and relationship-building efforts
  • Develop professional referral networks
  • Help identify opportunities to improve processes and client service delivery
  • Contribute to the long-term strategic growth of the firm
