About The Position

Cherry Bekaert, a leading accounting and consulting firm, is seeking a Tax Intern for Summer 2028 in Austin. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain insight into the public accounting profession, build a solid foundation for a career in tax, and work on diverse client engagements. Interns will apply accounting knowledge, utilize firm technology, shadow tax professionals, and participate in team-building and professional development initiatives. The role also includes contributing to a marketing or research project and attending social and community service events.

Requirements

• Juniors or seniors enrolled in an accredited accounting or related program, two years from graduation
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 or above preferred, but not required
• Proficiency with computers and spreadsheet software programs
• Ability to travel to client sites as needed, including frequent same-day travel
• Candidates must demonstrate eligibility to work in the United States.
• Cherry Bekaert will not provide work sponsorship for this position.

Responsibilities

• Work for multiple supervisors on a variety of client engagements
• Apply accounting knowledge while performing client work using Firm technology
• Shadow Tax professionals of all levels
• Participate in team building and training initiatives
• Participate in and present on a marketing or research project
• Attend social functions: happy hours, lunches, community service projects and other outings
