Tax Intern
About The Position
Hantz Group is a Michigan-based financial company and Family Office that manages more than $11 billion in assets, with over 20 offices and 600 employees. Its professionals collaborate across disciplines to provide services tailored to clients and help them achieve their financial goals. The Tax Intern joins the Family Office and works closely with CPAs, accountants, and financial advisors. The role offers hands-on experience in tax accounting and its relationship to financial services while the intern pursues a degree. Flexible working hours are available, and full-time and part-time opportunities are offered throughout the year.
Requirements
- Ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Strong sense of professional and personal accountability.
- Basic computer skills and experience with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong work ethic.
- Highly motivated and a self-starter.
- Strong leadership qualities and an entrepreneurial spirit.
- Ability to obtain an active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN).
Nice To Haves
- In pursuit of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Intentions of completing an Enrolled Agent and/or Certified Public Accountant license.
Responsibilities
- Analyze tax liability.
- Prepare tax projections.
- Attend meetings and trainings.
- Work with the Tax Team to assist in servicing clients.
- Comply with all industry rules and regulations.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
