About The Position

RRD is seeking a Tax Intern to assist with preparing U.S. federal and state corporate income and franchise tax returns and supporting work papers. The intern will conduct light tax research on topics related to the returns, gather information for tax notice responses, and support special projects. The role provides experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource corporate income tax software, HFM, and SAP accounting software.

Requirements

Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and/or Finance.
Rising junior or senior status.
Cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher.
Interest in learning about tax and completion of an intermediate accounting or tax class.
Ability to recognize anomalies, ask questions, and communicate solutions to identified issues.
Excellent communication skills and ability to articulate clearly in a business environment.
Microsoft Office skills, including Excel and Windows, and ability to learn other software.

Responsibilities

Assist with preparation of RRD’s U.S. Federal Consolidated Form 1120, covering more than 100 U.S. and foreign legal entities.
Assist with preparation of corporate state income and franchise tax returns for more than 40 states, including modifications and factor adjustments for GILTI, Section 78, Section 250, DRD, Subpart F, depreciation, Section 163(j), and capital gains or losses.
Assist with quarterly federal and state estimated tax payments and extensions.
Assist with continual process improvement by embedding standardized processes in tax technology and HFM so general ledger balances can be refreshed and imported to or exported from the OneSource suite of products.
Conduct light tax research, gather information for tax notice responses, and assist with special projects.
