GHJ's Tax Practice is comprised of nearly 100 professionals, many with advanced degrees and prior "Big Four" experience. Our team specializes in complex tax issues for privately held businesses, including federal, state, and local tax strategies, tax credit maximization, estate planning, and international matters. We aim to find solutions that maximize tax benefits and savings, offering sophisticated, tailored advice. Requirements

  • Assist with responses to notices from the IRS and other reporting agencies.
  • Assist in the projection of year-end filings.
  • Ability to compute quarterly estimates and other computations as needed.
  • Ability to operate a computer, calculator, and other general office equipment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, or related equivalent.
  • At least one year experience preparing individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
  • Work with tax software applications to complete tax returns for review.

Responsibilities

  • Organizing and coordinating clients’ tax data for the accurate, timely completion of tax returns.
  • Reviewing tax information submitted by client for completeness.
  • Answering clients’ questions regarding tax regulations.
  • Preparing personal tax returns of various complexities using computer software.
  • Preparing corporate, partnership, and S-corp returns not requiring advanced expertise.
  • Preparing amended returns of any variety and complexity.
  • Preparing personal tax projections using computer software.
  • Responding to tax notices and drafting required letters.
  • Performing tax research projects requiring minimal expertise.
  • Completing S-election and requests for accounting changes, as required.
  • Making adjusting entries and completing trial balances to prepare a tax return.
  • Maintaining a good understanding of depreciation and depreciation computer software to set up clients and read depreciation reports.
  • Preparing tax accruals as may be required in preparing corporate tax returns.
  • Working with confidential client matters and maintaining confidentiality.
