About The Position

We are seeking an experienced and client-focused Tax Director to lead complex tax engagements, provide strategic tax planning services, and serve as a trusted advisor to a diverse client base. This leadership role will oversee tax compliance, manage client relationships, mentor staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the firm's tax practice.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, or related field; Master's degree preferred.
8+ years of progressive public accounting tax experience, including management or leadership responsibilities.
Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations.
Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and deadlines.
Exceptional client relationship management, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience reviewing complex tax returns and providing strategic tax planning services.
Proficiency with tax preparation and research software.

Responsibilities

Review and oversee the preparation of complex business, partnership, corporate, trust, and individual tax returns.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local tax filing requirements while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy and quality.
Conduct advanced tax research and provide technical guidance on complex tax matters.
Develop and implement proactive tax planning strategies designed to minimize tax liabilities and support clients' financial objectives.
Review year-end tax projections, forecasts, and tax-saving opportunities for clients.
Serve as a primary client advisor, addressing tax concerns, resolving issues, and providing consultative recommendations.
Build and maintain strong client relationships through exceptional service and strategic guidance.
Lead, mentor, and develop tax managers, seniors, and staff, fostering professional growth and technical expertise.
Review work prepared by team members, ensuring compliance with firm standards, regulatory requirements, and best practices.
Collaborate with firm leadership on practice development initiatives, client retention, and business growth opportunities.
Identify opportunities to expand services and provide high-level consulting support to clients across a variety of industries.
