Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Qualified to practice before the IRS (i.e. Licensed Attorney, CPA, or EA)
  • Minimum of 10 years of State and Local Tax experience with emphasis on Sales & Use Tax
  • Minimum of 5 years in a managerial role involving clients and team members
  • Proven ability to generate leads, build relationships, and secure clients

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Accounting, Taxation, or Juris Doctor
  • Public accounting experience, preferably with a Big 4 or national firm
  • Familiarity with Power BI, Alteryx, OneSource, GoSystems, or comparable tax technology platforms

Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee multistate sales and use tax compliance and consulting engagements
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on indirect tax planning, compliance, and controversy matters
  • Build and strengthen client relationships through proactive communication and high-quality service
  • Identify opportunities to expand services and support business development efforts
  • Provide technical leadership in sales and use tax, including nexus, sourcing, and transaction-level analysis
  • Conduct and oversee multistate tax research to support planning strategies and compliance positions
  • Monitor and interpret state and local tax legislative developments impacting indirect tax
  • Advise on and support tax technology solutions, including tax engine implementation and optimization
  • Leverage and drive the use of cutting-edge technology to deliver timely, accurate, and efficient client solutions
  • Develop tools, process improvements, and technology-enabled solutions to enhance efficiency
  • Manage, develop, and mentor SALT professionals by providing coaching, feedback, and growth opportunities
  • Lead multiple client service teams to plan, execute, and deliver tax projects on time and within budget
  • Foster a culture of excellence, innovation, and client centered service
