About The Position

In this highly consultative role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to Fortune 500 and large enterprise clients, helping them identify, secure, and maximize economic development incentives and tax credit opportunities. You will partner closely with ADP's Global Enterprise Solutions (GES) organization to support client growth initiatives, deliver measurable financial value, and contribute to business development efforts. Your primary focus to thrive in this role will be leading complex tax credit and incentive engagements for large public and private organizations. Each engagement presents unique business challenges and opportunities, requiring strategic analysis, technical expertise, and innovative solutions that help clients achieve their financial and operational objectives. To succeed in this role, you must possess a strong understanding of corporate operations, public financial statements, capital investment strategies, and workforce growth trends. You will oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously, managing project scope, timelines, Statements of Work (SOWs), and stakeholder communications while ensuring an exceptional client experience.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in tax consulting, economic development incentives, tax credits, public accounting, corporate tax (including SALT), site selection, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to organize, interpret, and evaluate large datasets.
  • Exceptional communication, presentation, project management, and client relationship management skills.
  • Ability to lead executive-level discussions and communicate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple client engagements and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.
  • Relevant experience may include: Business or military experience demonstrating leadership, teamwork, adaptability, organization, problem solving, and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic advisor on federal, state, and local tax credits and economic development incentives.
  • Analyze client operations, financial data, and growth initiatives to identify opportunities and provide actionable recommendations.
  • Lead client presentations, discovery sessions, and advisory meetings while delivering an exceptional client experience and achieving strong client satisfaction results.
  • Collaborate with ADP's Global Enterprise Solutions (GES) organization to support prospect and client opportunities.
  • Build trusted relationships with CFOs, Tax Directors, Controllers, HR leaders, Real Estate executives, and other key stakeholders.
  • Partner with internal tax professionals, implementation teams, compliance specialists, and business leaders to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Manage incentive and tax credit engagements from initial assessment through delivery.
  • Oversee project plans, timelines, deliverables, technical research, and client communications.
  • Review and approve final deliverables, resolve escalated issues, and provide guidance during incentive audits or compliance reviews when necessary.
  • Identify, evaluate, structure, and secure statutory and negotiated incentive opportunities that support client expansion, hiring, investment, and operational objectives.
  • Perform data analysis and quality reviews to ensure accuracy and optimize tax credit outcomes.
  • Draft technical memoranda, incentive applications, and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor legislative and regulatory developments affecting tax credits and economic development programs.
  • Provide thought leadership and technical expertise regarding tax credits, incentives, and economic development strategies.
  • Support strategic initiatives that expand ADP's Tax Credits Services practice and strengthen market presence.
  • Contribute to business development activities, including opportunity scoping, proposal development, and Statement of Work (SOW) creation.
