About The Position

Perform data entry and reconciliation of specific state surplus lines tax filings per state guidelines. This role involves maintaining established policies and procedures, identifying and implementing process improvements, and staying informed about relevant regulations. The specialist will prepare, enter, and upload tax filings according to state requirements, perform reconciliations, and assist in preparing payments. Effective communication with internal and external customers is essential, along with handling customer service calls and responding to inquiries promptly. The position also requires performing other job duties as needed.

Requirements

Four years of work experience in Accounting and/or Insurance Industry.
MAS500 experience preferred or other related large Accounting Financial System preferred.
Ability to organize and present information in a neat and effective manner.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, while keeping focused on the details.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and a sense of urgency.
Ability to exercise good judgment.
Ability to grasp new tasks/software/equipment quickly, efficiently and accurately.
Detail oriented.
Positive demeanor and a willingness to learn.
Team player with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Ability and willingness to take initiative.
Perform all functions assigned in an accurate and timely manner.
Exercises good judgment in areas of moderate to high complexity when the situation warrants.
Typing of 45 wpm.
Specific knowledge of Microsoft office, including word, outlook and excel.
Specific computer knowledge, as well as working in an office environment.
Ability to answer phones, including conference calls, possible multiple lines.
Ability to use a 10-key calculator by touch.
Ability to be self-directed and goal oriented.
Moderate knowledge of accounting principles, and ability to research moderately to highly complex accounting issues to solve problems.
Possess strong written and oral communication skills.
Ability to set and meet priorities & deadlines of responsibilities in line with established month end and year end closing dates.
Must be able to multitask, analyze complex information, and balance items quickly and accurately.
