About The Position

Accruity is seeking a Tax Compliance Associate to support its growing tax compliance practice. This role is designed for a production-focused individual who excels at managing high volumes of tax returns and coordinating between clients, an offshore return preparation team, and internal reviewers. The associate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and timely progression of tax filings from intake to completion, with a strong emphasis on process adherence, tracking, and proactive issue resolution. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within an efficient, offshore-leveraged delivery model in a real estate-focused accounting and advisory firm.

Requirements

  • 2+ busy seasons in a production role at a CPA firm focused on tax compliance.
  • 1-3 years of experience in public accounting, tax compliance, or a high-volume tax production environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent engagements without losing details.
  • Process-oriented with the ability to follow, improve, and document systems.
  • Clear, concise written communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Hands-on experience with CCH Axcess preferred; exposure to Drake, UltraTax, or equivalent also considered.
  • Real estate tax experience (partnerships, K-1s, multi-entity structures) is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain workpapers to support client tax filings, identifying and flagging deficiencies before return preparation begins.
  • Manage the client document collection process, ensuring completeness of intake and proactively following up on missing items.
  • Maintain a real-time log of open items for client engagements.
  • Assign, manage, and monitor return preparation tasks with the offshore team, enforcing quality standards and escalating delays or deficiencies.
  • Prepare final filing packages, e-file authorizations, client delivery materials, and internal documentation.
  • Provide clients with filing status updates and communicate return status, blockers, deadlines, and next steps to internal stakeholders.
