About The Position

Our client is seeking an experienced Tax Associate (CPA) to join their growing public accounting firm in Annapolis, Maryland. This is an excellent opportunity for a tax professional who enjoys working directly with clients and preparing a variety of business and individual tax returns in a collaborative, close-knit environment. The ideal candidate will be a licensed CPA with several years of public accounting experience and the ability to provide review-level expertise and sign-off support as needed. This role offers a unique opportunity to become an integral part of a small but growing firm where your contributions will have a direct impact on client relationships and business growth. Our client is currently unable to offer sponsorship.

Requirements

• Active CPA license required
• 3-5 years of public accounting and tax preparation experience
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• Experience preparing, reviewing, and signing individual and business tax returns
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Excellent communication, organization, and client-facing skills
• Ability to thrive in a collaborative, small-firm environment

Nice To Haves

• QuickBooks experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and businesses
• Work directly with clients to gather information and address tax-related questions
• Review financial data and supporting documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Assist with tax planning and tax compliance activities
• Research and resolve client tax issues as needed
• Maintain strong client relationships through timely and professional communication
• Collaborate with firm leadership and staff to support client service initiatives
• Contribute to the continued growth and success of the practice
