About The Position

The Tax Analyst (Intern) supports the Tax Director and tax team by assisting with tax compliance, reporting, research, and administrative activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to corporate tax functions, including indirect tax processes, documentation management, audit support, and cross-functional collaboration. The Tax Analyst (Intern) will gain practical experience while developing foundational knowledge of tax regulations, compliance requirements, and corporate finance operations.

Requirements

  • Basic understanding of accounting, finance, or taxation concepts acquired through coursework, internships, or related experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to organize and present information clearly.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Demonstrated initiative, curiosity, and willingness to learn new concepts and processes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior internship, coursework, or campus organization experience in accounting, finance, or tax is a plus.
  • Interest in corporate tax, compliance, and process improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the collection, organization, and reconciliation of data related to sales tax, use tax, property tax, and other tax-related obligations.
  • Support the preparation of workpapers, schedules, and supporting documentation used in tax filings and compliance activities.
  • Review and maintain exemption certificates and related records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation.
  • Assist with tax audits by gathering requested documentation, organizing records, and tracking information requests.
  • Conduct basic tax research on federal, state, and local tax requirements and summarize findings for the tax team.
  • Support the maintenance and enhancement of tax process documentation, standard operating procedures, and internal controls.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, and other departments to obtain information necessary to support tax-related activities.
  • Maintain the confidentiality of sensitive financial, tax, and business information.
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
