About The Position

Mirion is seeking a Tax Accountant to work in our Atlanta office. This position will focus on the company’s income tax processes. An ideal candidate would bring knowledge, and/or desire to learn, in the key areas of: U.S. federal and state income tax compliance, income tax provisions, international tax, and other areas of tax. We are seeking an ambitious person with an enthusiasm for learning and taking initiative. The individual will report to the Tax Director and work closely with other members of the Tax Department to support the Vice President of Tax and fulfill various responsibilities of the company’s income tax function.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Experience with income tax compliance/provision rules and processes a plus.
• Able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities while taking ownership of relevant workstreams.
• Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong Excel skills.

Nice To Haves

• Master of Accountancy a plus
• At least 1-3 years of corporate tax experience
• Public accounting experience a plus
• Experience with tax compliance software (Thomson Reuters/OneSource products a plus)
• Comfortable working with initiative, under.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the income tax compliance lifecycle, including accurate and timely filing of federal, state, and local income tax extensions, returns, and estimated payments.
• Assist with application of ASC 740 including preparation of calculations for quarterly and annual income tax provisions.
• Assist with international tax compliance and provisions.
• Assist with tax planning initiatives, modeling, research, and other tax related projects.
• Assist with income tax notices, inquiries, and examinations.
• Stay current with relevant tax legislation/changes, research applicability as necessary.
• Maintain a professional demeanor in all aspects of work environment.
