About The Position
TaxLeaf is looking for a detail-oriented, experienced Tax Accountant to join our team. You'll specialize in tax preparation for individuals and businesses, making sure every return complies with federal, state, and local regulations. Requirements
- Hands-on tax preparation experience
- Solid knowledge of individual and business tax returns
- Bookkeeping experience
- Financial statement preparation and analysis
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax laws
- Fully bilingual in English and Spanish: speaking, writing, and reading
- Proficiency in tax software (e.g., UltraTax), Microsoft Excel, Office, and Teams
- 2–3 years in tax preparation or public accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
Nice To Haves
- CPA or EA certification
- Experience with small business returns and multi-state filings
Responsibilities
- Prepare and file individual and business tax returns, including multi-state filings
- Handle bookkeeping and prepare financial statements
- Analyze financial statements to support accurate filings
- Support and assist the company's CPA
- Manage client paperwork from intake to filing
- Communicate with clients by email, phone, and in person
- Use Leafnet to manage clients, place orders, apply payments, and document interactions
- Contact governmental offices and coordinate with internal departments
- Maintain accurate task and database reports
- Keep all company and client information confidential
