About The Position

The Corporate Staff Tax Accountant supports the internal tax department in managing a broad range of tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities across U.S. and international jurisdictions. The ideal candidate brings technical tax knowledge, experience with tax systems, and a proactive mindset focused on accuracy, process improvement, and collaboration. This position is based out of our corporate office in Greenwood Village, Colorado.

Requirements

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (nested formulas, data modeling, pivot tables, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience (public accounting or corporate tax environment).
  • Foundational understanding of consolidated corporate tax filings, pass-through entities, and the concept of disregarded entities for tax purposes.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with corporate ERP systems (e.g., Cloud Suite, SAP, Oracle) and corporate tax compliance software (e.g., ONESOURCE, Corptax) a plus.
  • CPA is preferred
  • Experience dealing with multi-entity structures or tiered corporate hierarchies is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly federal and state income tax accruals in accordance with ASC 740.
  • Calculate and initiate federal and state estimated tax payments.
  • Prepare supporting schedules and documentation for income tax return filings.
  • Utilize OneSource and other tax technology tools to prepare C-Corporation federal and state tax filings and pro forma returns for the parent company.
  • Prepare and file sales, use, occupancy, and property tax returns across multiple jurisdictions, ensuring full compliance with applicable regulations.
  • Ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities and perform detailed reconciliations of tax-related accounts.
  • Research and resolve discrepancies, partnering with accounting and operations teams as needed.
  • Compile, validate, and analyze data for VAT reporting.
  • Review VAT returns and coordinate timely filing and payments in foreign jurisdictions.
  • Support VAT registrations and ongoing compliance requirements.
  • Respond to notices and inquiries from federal, state, and international tax authorities.
  • Assist with tax audits by gathering documentation, preparing responses, and coordinating with external advisors.
  • Conduct tax research to support compliance and business initiatives.
  • Assist with nexus studies and tax registrations in new jurisdictions.
  • Prepare and file required reports with the U.S. Census Bureau and Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
  • Provide backup support for treasury operations, including updating the daily cash sheet, as needed.
  • Partner with accounting, finance, and operations teams to support tax-related initiatives and improve processes.
  • Manage the process of tracking and reporting of unclaimed checks.
  • Responsible for reviewing corporate expense reports for adherence to policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
