About The Position

We are seeking a Tax Accountant to support a broad range of tax accounting and compliance. This position involves Payroll and Indirect Tax compliance. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate and timely compliance with complex federal, state, and local tax requirements across multiple jurisdictions. This position will collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams and contribute to process improvements. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required
3+ years of tax or relevant experience
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
Demonstrated attention to detail and accuracy in tax filings and reporting
Effective relationship building skills and communication with team members of all levels
Intermediate level of computer experience and knowledge of spreadsheets and databases
Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently, managing time and prioritizing tasks effectively

Responsibilities

Prepare and file quarterly IFTA, HUT, and Mileage Tax reports.
Work closely with the payroll manager and assist in payroll tax compliance.
Maintain tax calendars and ensure all compliance deadlines are met.
Research and apply changes in tax laws, rates, and regulations to ensure accurate filings.
Respond to IRS and state/ local DOR payroll and other indirect tax notices and coordinate resolution with tax agencies.
Prepare and submit P&I abatement requests, including first time abatement and reasonable cause relief claims, supported by appropriate documentation and tax research.
Assist with tax audits and provide supporting documentation to taxing authorities.
