About The Position

Solid Rock Recruiting is partnering with a respected, established Milwaukee public accounting firm seeking an experienced tax professional to join its growing team. This opportunity is designed for someone who already has a solid public accounting tax foundation and wants to continue progressing toward greater client ownership, review responsibility, mentoring, and advisory work. The exact level and responsibilities can be tailored based on experience. This isn't intended to be a narrow return-preparation position. The firm offers opportunities to expand into review, planning, client management, mentoring, and advisory responsibilities as you progress. For someone who wants to continue advancing in public accounting without getting lost inside a massive organization, this offers the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals while continuing to build technical, leadership, and client-facing skills.

Requirements

• 3+ years of public accounting tax experience
• CPA license/certificate or actively working toward CPA licensure
• Strong knowledge of tax compliance and accounting concepts
• Ability to communicate effectively with clients and colleagues
• Ability to manage multiple engagements and priorities
• Interest in developing deeper client relationships and taking on increasing responsibility

Nice To Haves

• Experience with CCH Axcess and CCH Engagement is a plus

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or review federal and state tax returns
• Work with business, individual, trust, and estate clients
• Prepare tax projections and assist with proactive tax planning
• Provide compilation and review services for privately held businesses
• Research and respond to federal and state tax notices
• Develop and maintain ongoing client relationships
• Assist clients with tax and financial matters throughout the year
• Support the training and development of junior staff
• Collaborate directly with managers and partners
• Participate in professional, recruiting, and community activities
• Gain exposure to private foundations and charitable trusts
