About The Position

Golden State Cider (Sonoma Craft) is seeking an experienced, hands-on Taproom Supervisor to support the daily operations of their new San Francisco Taproom. This role involves assisting the Taproom Manager in leading the team during service, ensuring smooth shift operations, maintaining an exceptional guest experience, and acting as a leader on the floor when the manager is absent. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced hospitality environment, leads by example, and enjoys coaching and supporting others. Responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day shift execution, maintaining operational standards, supporting inventory and staffing needs, and ensuring every guest experience reflects the quality and culture of Sonoma Craft (Golden State Cider).

Requirements

  • 2+ years of supervisory or leadership experience in hospitality.
  • Strong interpersonal and conflict management skills.
  • Ability to manage shift flow and coverage effectively and in compliance with CA Labor Laws.
  • Must be 21+ with valid alcohol service and food handler certifications.
  • Must hold a valid California driver’s license.
  • Valid Responsible Beverage Service certification and Food Handler certification required.
  • Mandated reporter responsibilities under applicable California law.
  • Must comply with all reporting obligations related to suspected workplace misconduct, including harassment, discrimination, retaliation, or other reportable conduct, in accordance with company policy and legal requirements.
  • Adherence to all company policies, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements related to the handling, production, and presence of alcohol in the workplace.

  • POS system experience preferred (Square).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure breaks and lunches are covered to maintain compliance and operational flow.
  • Act as manager-on-duty in the Taproom Manager’s absence.
  • Directly supervise leads and bartenders during assigned shifts, when manager is not present.
  • Participate in the hiring process in partnership with the Taproom Manager and HR.
  • Enforce safety, cleanliness, and sanitation during shifts.
  • Communicate staffing issues to the Taproom Manager.
  • Perform bartending and guest service duties when needed.
  • Support event execution and promotions as directed by the Taproom Manager.
  • Gather taproom supplies for weekly needs from local vendors instructed by the Taproom Manager.
  • Support inventory management by ordering supplies as needed, verifying and reconciling inventory, and accurately processing all related documentation.
  • Assist with scheduling and shift approvals when Taproom Manager is not present.
  • Manage inventory of batched cocktails, ingredients, and glassware for service.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Provides real-time oversight during shifts for leads and bartenders.
  • Guides team members during service but defers formal discipline, evaluations, and termination decisions to the Taproom Manager.
