About The Position

The Tank Mechanic ensures proper workmanship across all aspects of the job through an organized process and technical skill. The employee also assists Large Format coworkers and the shop supervisor as needed. The role includes operating heavy equipment to move ISO containers, maintaining equipment, repairing and maintaining ISO tanks and chassis, and performing tank testing. Welding ability or willingness to learn is required.

Requirements

Heavy forklift and yard mule experience.
Safety-minded approach to work.
Ability to weld or willingness to learn.
Ability to work at heights of 8 feet or more.

Responsibilities

Operate a Taylor forklift with 27,000 lb capacity and an Ottawa yard mule.
Move ISO containers and perform day-to-day equipment operation.
Clean equipment as needed, report deficiencies, and keep equipment ready for use.
Perform work professionally and safely, effectively, and efficiently under company health, safety, and environmental policies.
Prepare parts according to work orders and install them on ISO tanks according to drawings.
Repair tanks according to off-lease estimates and perform periodic ISO tank testing.
Work with third-party inspectors.
Perform general maintenance on ISO tanks, chassis, and the shop.
Complete assigned daily equipment inspections and use hand and power tools.
Operate a forklift, pressure washer, and air compressor.
Work at heights of 8 feet or more.
Prepare and fabricate parts for welding, weld parts for ISO tanks according to drawings, and safely weld components to tanks and chassis.
Assist Large Format coworkers and the shop supervisor as needed.
