About The Position

The Technician is responsible for safely inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing bulk and microbulk liquid and gaseous cryogenic supply systems at customer locations. This position ensures systems operate safely, reliably, and in compliance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations, industry standards, and company procedures. The Technician works independently in the field and communicates professionally with customers, project managers, sales representatives, contractors, engineers, inspectors, and other internal and external partners.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Previous experience with cryogenic systems, industrial gases, pressure systems, mechanical maintenance, or a related field preferred.
  • Working knowledge of bulk and microbulk systems, cryogenic equipment, pressure-regulating equipment, valves, piping, and related components preferred.
  • Knowledge of tube bending, pipe assembly, fittings, leak detection, and basic mechanical repair.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, equipment specifications, schematics, and safety procedures.
  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and commitment to safety and quality.
  • Ability to prioritize work, manage time effectively, and make sound decisions while working independently.
  • Effective verbal and written communication and customer service skills.
  • Basic computer proficiency and ability to complete electronic work orders and service documentation.
  • Valid driver’s license and driving record that meets company requirements.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain required equipment certifications, including forklift and aerial-lift certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Perform annual, periodic, and preventive maintenance inspections of bulk and microbulk systems to verify safe operation and compliance with applicable codes, regulations, manufacturer specifications, and company standards.
  • Inspect, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair cryogenic liquid and gaseous supply systems and associated components.
  • Install, repair, test, and troubleshoot system telemetry and monitoring equipment.
  • Identify and repair system leaks using approved testing methods and safety procedures.
  • Repair or replace pressure regulators, pressure-relief devices, valves, gauges, fittings, piping components, and other system equipment.
  • Perform tube bending, fitting installation, and minor piping repairs in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures.
  • Complete tank cleaning, washing, refurbishment, surface preparation, and painting.
  • Install and maintain the required decals, labels, and warning signs that identify hazards, ownership, operating settings, and emergency contact information.
  • Conduct operational and safety checks following repairs to confirm system integrity and proper performance.
  • Accurately complete inspection reports, service records, work orders, parts documentation, and other required records.
  • Communicate service findings, safety concerns, repair recommendations, and work status promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain an appropriate inventory of tools, replacement parts, and supplies needed to support the assigned customer base.
  • Keep company vehicles, tools, and equipment clean, organized, secure, and in safe operating condition.
  • Follow all company safety policies, customer-site requirements, and applicable regulatory standards, including the proper use of personal protective equipment.
  • Safely operate forklifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, and other equipment required to perform assigned work.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
