Tank Farm Worker
About The Position
This role is responsible for the efficient operation of tank farm facilities, including the shipping and receiving of bulk chemicals. The worker will provide services for prompt and accurate filling, packing, and shipping of customer orders, ensuring compliance with all State and Federal labeling and shipping laws. Responsibilities include inspecting and maintaining tank farm equipment and facilities, ensuring the maintenance and protection of warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment, and performing monthly inspections of the plant fire control system. The role also involves maintaining warehouse stocks, keeping aisles and floors clean, preparing lists of non-usable materials, and exchanging workers with other warehouse sections as needed. Additionally, the worker will complete inspections and paperwork related to hazardous waste generation and transport, and report any operational issues to management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma, or GED with additional schooling or equivalent business experience.
- 3 to 5 years of experience with the Company.
- Training in Contingency Plan (OTC-053) and Hazardous Waste (OTC-239).
- Ability to respond to emergency response situations.
- Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
- Ability to respond to emergencies and direct Emergency Response Teams.
- Ability to operate all warehouse equipment.
- Ability to work varying and extended hours.
Responsibilities
- Provide efficient operation of the tank farm facilities.
- Shipping and receiving of bulk chemicals in the tank farm.
- Provide services for the prompt and accurate filling, packing, and shipping of tank farm customer orders.
- Ensure compliance with all State and Federal labeling and shipping laws and regulations on merchandise shipped from warehouse.
- Inspect and check tank farm equipment and facilities to ensure that all equipment is in good operating condition.
- Ensure the maintenance and protection of warehouse stocks, supplies, and equipment.
- Make monthly inspection of plant fire control system.
- Maintain warehouse stocks after they are received and ensure that aisles and warehouse floor is cleaned and cleared of merchandise.
- Prepare a monthly list of all-empty containers, un-repairable pallets, distressed stock, and miscellaneous non-usable materials and submit to Warehouse Manager.
- Exchange workers with other warehouse sections as needed.
- Complete inspections and paperwork associated with hazardous waste generation and waste pickup transport.
- Bring any problems with regard to tank farm operation to the attention of Warehouse or Operation's Manager.
