About The Position

HPC-Industrial powered by Clean Harbors is looking for a traveling Tank Cleaning Technician I to join their safety-conscious team! This team member is responsible for supporting work during industrial tank cleaning operations which will entail following all site-specific safety guidelines and protocols; as well as, following instructions from the site supervisory personnel and various other responsibilities. The Tank Cleaning Technician I serves as a representative of HPC-Industrial in creating a continuous working relationship with clients/customers. This is a great opportunity for transitioning Military to leverage their skills and training as they return to civilian life. The technician operates a variety of mechanical and manual servicing equipment, such as centrifugal pumps for industrial services, waste management, and tank cleaning, in accordance with HPC's established methods, policies, practices and procedures and applicable regulations.

Requirements

  • 2+ years related experience.
  • May have to provide Federal Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC).
  • Basic safety courses including site-specific procedures.
  • All required local training.
  • Successful completion of all required and OSHA training as a condition of employment.
  • Must be physically capable of performing all duties and responsibilities of his/her position.
  • Must have access to a telephone.
  • Compliance with physical requirements.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow procedures.
  • Safe driving.
  • Reading, writing, and comprehending in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
  • Transporting, carrying, and connecting hoses, fittings, pumps, and other site-related equipment.
  • Monitoring and operation of special equipment such as pumps, breathing air equipment, and tools to enable the cleaning of tanks.
  • Operate equipment according to procedures and safe practices.
  • Ability to follow orders from site supervisory personnel.
  • Donning and doffing HazMat PPE and entering confined spaces to aid in the cleaning of large storage tanks.
  • May be required to perform physically strenuous duties such as removal of product or sludges while in the tank wearing HazMat PPE.
  • Additional duties as assigned.
