About The Position

This shoreside job primarily involves oversight of the safe and efficient loading and discharging of oil, refined and petrochemical cargoes from and to assigned barges. The position does not require service as a crew member on any specific barge or vessel.

Requirements

• Must possess a valid Merchant Mariner's Credential (MMC) with a PIC (Person-In-Charge)
• Current Medical Certificate
• Valid driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles
• Ability to pass certification requirements of 46 CFR Part 197 Subpart C on benzene regulations
• TWIC Card

• AB endorsement preferred, not required

Responsibilities

• Preparing assigned barges to include completion of loading and discharging of oil, refined cargoes.
• Communicating with dock personnel to ensure that each person participating in the transfer of product understands what the product is and how it should be transferred and protected.
• Handle lines for undocking/docking activities.
• Assist in training new personnel
• Ability to use firefighting/spill containment equipment
• All other duties as assigned.
