About The Position

The Director, Talent Management is a strategic leadership role responsible for developing and deploying global talent management strategies that enable Xylem’s strategic priorities and support a High-Impact Culture through an integrated talent system. This role combines enterprise talent leadership with business-facing partnership, helping translate talent priorities into practical, scalable solutions that strengthen organizational capability and drive meaningful talent outcomes. The Director, Talent Management is an enterprise-minded leader who partners closely with HR and business segment and functional leaders to identify talent needs, address organizational capability gaps, and advance integrated talent strategies across the enterprise. This role works in close collaboration with Talent COE leaders and broader COE partners to design and deliver scalable, connected talent solutions that support business priorities. The position also serves as a lead for assigned strategic projects and talent practices, acting as a product owner to help deliver seamless user experiences and best-in-class talent solutions. In addition, the role functions as a strategic talent partner aligned to a business segment and/or functional area, translating enterprise talent priorities into actionable approaches that support business needs. Success in this role requires innovative, data-driven, and AI-enabled thinking to improve talent insights, strengthen decision-making, and future-proof talent capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in talent management, leadership development, learning, organizational effectiveness, HR business partner, or broader HR leadership roles.
  • Experience designing and leading talent programs in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Experience working in a Fortune 500 company and within a manufacturing or industrial environment strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a strategic talent partner to an aligned business segment and/or functional area, partnering with HR Business Partners and business leaders to address capability needs, talent risks, succession priorities, and development opportunities.
  • Lead strategic Talent COE work across integrated talent management, including areas such as: performance management talent review succession planning leadership development skills development career pathing talent acquisition employee listening inclusion and belonging
  • Design, implement, and continuously improve talent frameworks, programs, and processes that build leadership capability and support business strategy.
  • Collaborate with Talent COE partners, HR Business Partners, and enterprise stakeholders to co-create integrated, practical, and scalable talent solutions.
  • Build strong, trust-based partnerships across the organization to align priorities, solve problems, and ensure talent strategies are effectively developed and implemented in support of business goals.
  • Drive talent review processes, identify high-potential talent, strengthen succession plans, and support development actions for key talent across the organization.
  • Advance an integrated approach to talent by connecting performance, potential, development, career, skills, and succession across the employee lifecycle.
  • Apply systems thinking to align talent strategies, processes, and tools with broader business priorities.
  • Lead learning needs analysis and help prioritize talent development efforts across the organization.
  • Use talent data, insights, and metrics to evaluate program effectiveness, identify gaps, and inform decisions and recommendations.
  • Help embed scalable tools, systems, and processes that enable effective talent outcomes, including the use of talent and learning platforms.
  • Lead assigned strategic projects and/or talent practices as a product owner, delivering streamlined, user-centered, and high-quality talent experiences.
  • Apply modern, data-driven, and AI-enabled approaches to enhance talent strategy, improve insights, and support evolving enterprise capability needs.
